Lady Devils have little trouble against Tri County NE

WYNOT — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils picked up an easy win on Thursday night as they rolled to a 48-21 victory over the Tri-County Northeast Lady Wolfpack.

The Lady Blue improved their season record to 8-2 with the win while the Lady Wolfpack’s record fell to 2-8.

Wynot’s relentless pressure on defense was a big factor in the game and the Lady Devils held the Wolfpack to single digit scoring in every quarter.

Wynot was led by Kenna Oligmueller with 14 points while Kayla Pinkelman and Eliza Lange each just missed double figures with nine points.

Tri County was led by Briley Anderson with 7 points and Shantel Miller and Joslyn Mackling each hit for five points apiece to lead the Lady Wolfpack offense.

Wynot would start fast with eight points by Kenna Oligmueller and five points by Myrah Sudbeck as they rushed to a 15-2 first quarter advantage. Kiya Torenz had the only Tri County only basket.

The Lady Blue Devils offense stalled out some in the second quarter but their defense remained strong. Tri County got a three pointer from Joslyn Mackling and a basket each from Mica Torenz and Briley Anderson.

Wynot countered with a trey by Kinslee Heimes, a bucket by Jaylin Geisen and some free throws to increase their lead to 24-9 at halftime.

Offense was at a premium in the third quarter for both teams. Tri County got 5 points by Shantel Miller and bucket plus one from Briley Anderson. Wynot got single baskets from Kenna Oligmueller, Kayla Pinkelman and Eliza Lange to widen to a 31-17 lead.

Wynot held the Lady Wolf Pack to just 2 baskets in the final quarter one each from Joslyn Mackling and Briley Anderson.

The Blue Devils finished with a 17-4 run lead by 6 points inside from Eliza Lange a basket off of an offense rebound by Isabella Heimes and treys by Kinslee Heimes and Kayla Pinkelman as Wynot took the win 48-21.
