HARTINGTON — High school sports get back at it following Santa Claus’ yearly visit and the Cedar Catholic wrestling teams are set to go in hopes of wrapping up 2023 on a positive note.
The Trojans will wrestle in the Newman Grove Invitational on Thursday.
“It will be one of our toughest meets of the season, but a great way to test ourselves and see some district competition,” Cedar Catholic head coach Justin Bartling said. “Heading into break, I like our aggressiveness and how well we wrestle on our feet.”
Bartling said the biggest need for improvement is “controlling our opponents from the top position. We have struggled some with keeping opponents down.”
He also said to keep an eye on the continued evolution of freshman Easton Hochstein.
“He has really stepped up this season and has dominated every opponent he has faced,” Bartling said. “It’s been fun to watch.”
