LAUREL - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears added two wins to the resume’ last week.

The Bears defeated Tri County Northeast 68-31 on the road Dec. 8 after dropping Homer 61-27 in Laurel on Dec. 5.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge had little trouble in either game, jumping out to a big lead at the beginning of each contest and never looking back.

Against the Wolfpack, the advantage was 26 -7 after the first eight minutes and Tri County Northeast would never get any closer to the Bears.

After the 26-7 lead at the end of the first, the Wolfpack tried to stay with Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in the second, but the Bears eventually added a couple of points to the lead by the intermission, taking a 36-15 lead into the break.

The Bears added five points to the lead in the third and blew the game wide open in the final eight minutes by adding 11 points to the advantage before settling on the the 37-point victory.

Gibson Roberts was the main threat offensively for head coach, Todd Erwin and the Bears, finishing the night with 18 points.

Kolby Hansen added 10, Tyler Olson tacked on eight and Bradyn Urwiler, Carter Kvols and Kayton Hall each contributed six.

Olson and Hall each pulled down five rebounds to lead the Bears in that statistic, Landen Leonard snared four and Carter Kvols hauled in three.

Roberts had five steals defensively for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge while Leonard dished out three assists.

The game against the Knights started even more slowly for the Knights with Laurel-Concord-Coleridge going up 28-0 in the first quarter before sealing Homer’s fate heading to the halftime locker room with the Bears in charge, 37-7.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge closed out the game in the second half, adding an additional six points in the third and holding on for the fourth quarter.

Roberts again carried the load for the Bears on offense, pouring in 14 points on the night, Hall scored 11 points.

Leonard and Olson each chipped in eight while Urwiler again tallied six.

Olson and Hall each grabbed five rebounds.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was set to take on unbeaten Ponca on Dec. 12 in Laurel before taking on Plainview on Dec. 15 and Bloomfield Dec. 19.

All games are set for Laurel.
