LAUREL – The curtains closed on another season of One-Act play production at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School with a third-place finish at state competition last week.

Kolten Settje was recognized with an Outstanding Male Performer Award in his portrayal of Nick Bottom in LCC’s production of “A Puckish Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

The play features a twist on the Shakespeare classic with the same name. The adaptation was written and directed by LCC’s own Sarah Beckwith and Erica Mogensen.

One of three judges ranked LCC in first place during the state competition.

Just getting to the big stage – Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk – for state could be considered an accomplishment all its own.

LCC last took the state stage in 2014 where they came away with the runner-up trophy that year.
