Lady Hawks fall to O’Neill St. Mary’s

OSMOND – Last week, the Randolph-Osmond Lady Hawks faced the O’Neill St. Mary’s Cardinals in the basketball season opener in Osmond. The Cardinals came into the game ranked No. 3 in D1 and were able to shut down the home-team Hawks, winning 75-31.

OSMOND – Last week, the Randolph-Osmond Lady Hawks faced the O’Neill St. Mary’s Cardinals in the basketball season opener in Osmond. The Cardinals came into the game ranked No. 3 in D1 and were able to shut down the home-team Hawks, winning 75-31.

“We had a very talented team come to town and we just weren’t able to match them during the game. We will need to focus on consistency in all aspects of the game if we want to get to where we want to be,” said Head Coach Bradley Wright.

The Lady Hawks will continue their challenging stretch as they travel to Ponca on Thursday, Dec. 7, and will play the D2 No. 1 team in the state, Wynot, in Randolph the following night on Dec. 8.

In JV action Thursday against St Mary’s the Lady Hawks fell to the visiting Cardinals 25-16.

On Saturday, the Lady Hawks played in the R Club JV tournament in Randolph with the first game against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. LCC used a big second half to build on their one-point halftime lead to come away victorious 29-16. The loss put the Lady Hawks in the consolation game where they would face Wynot.
