WAYNE – Wayne State College will hold a commencement ceremony for graduate and undergraduate students at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in Rice Auditorium. A total of 345 degrees will be conferred.
Those students receiving their diplomas will include 214 undergraduates and 131 graduate students from the college’s Master of Science in Education, Master of Organizational Management, Master of Business Administration, and Education Specialist programs.
Aspen Bennier of Sioux City, Iowa, will deliver the invocation. She is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Bennier was named to the dean’s list and served as a substitute teacher in area schools as part of the College’s Northeast Nebraska Teacher Academy while completing her undergraduate degree.
Aubreanna Miller of Milford, will deliver one of two commencement addresses. She is graduating with a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Journalism and Communication Studies, with a minor in Editing and Publishing.
Miller was active on campus, serving as editor-in-chief of The Wayne Stater from August 2022 to May 2023; news editor from August 2021 to May 2022; and staff writer from January 2021 to May 2023.
She also served various roles with Theta Phi Alpha sorority.
