PIERCE – The Pierce County Republican Committee convened its regular meeting at 7 p.m., Nov. 7, with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer, led by county chairman Bradly Lewon.
The meeting was held at the Pierce Lied Public Library.
Lewon introduced District 19 Legislative Senator Robert Dover and the remainder of the meeting was given over to him.
Dover provided a brief summary of the last legislative session and answered questions from concerned residents.
Topics ranged from the EPIC tax option, Northeast Nebraska’s Highway 275 four-lane advancement, and legalization of marijuana in Nebraska.
The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m.
A special meeting was held Tuesday to complete the review of the county constitution draft and flow chart.
The intent is to approve the constitution and flow chart at the group’s next regular meeting. Anyone with changes or suggestions should contact Lewon as soon as possible.
The Pierce County GOP meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Lied Pierce Public Library.
The next monthly meeting will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Lied Pierce Public Library. Everyone is welcome.
