ATEN — Dianne Irene Kuchta, 80, Aten, died Nov. 13, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society, Bloomfield.
A memorial service was Nov. 18 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home, Yankton, S.D., with Rev. Tom Anderson officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yankton.
The family received friends one hour prior to the memorial service Saturday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home.
Dianne Irene Kuchta was born July 22, 1943, in Yankton, to Norman and Irene (Pibal) Lane. She grew up and attended school in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1961. She married Daniel “Danny” Kuchta June 29, 1978, and moved to Aten. She worked at Gurney Seed & Nursery, Yankton, for many years until it closed and then began working for The Glass Cutter, Yankton.
Dianne was a strong-willed, generous woman who would do anything for anyone. She loved being outdoors and loved animals. She always had birdseed in her yard and that attracted two peacocks that found their way to Dianne’s house, which started her love of peacocks. She also loved taking care of her parakeet and cats.
Survivors include her two children, Lisa (Bob) Albon, Santee, Calif., and Richard Chavis, Yankton, S.D.; four grandchildren, Alexandra, Robert III, Ryan and Michael; two sisters, Sharon (Vern) Zavadil, Yankton, S.D., and Donna Swank, Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother-in-law, Mike Kuchta, Menomineee; sister-in-law, Sharon Thoene, Yankton, S.D; two cats, Bootsie and Punkie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny; and sisterin- law, Elaine Painter.
