Just like the real thing

Ag Instructor Craig Flaming provides instruction to Dylan Schutt as he uses a spraying simulator last week. The simulator, on loan by Central Valley Ag, provides a life-like experience behind the wheel of a tractor complete with the sound of birds chirping, the tractor seat bouncing as the “tractor” travels over the field, and navigating around obstacles such as wind turbines. “It’s just fun because they get to do something that a lot of people never have the opportunity. There’s been a lot of kids on that don’t even have driver’s licenses,” Flaming said. Superintendent Daryl Schrunk said the school-business partnership with CVA is just one of the ways to show students career opportunities available in their hometown.
