Randolph girl earns 4-H award

WAYNE – The Wayne County 4-H Achievement Program was held Oct. 22 and during the program a Randolph girl earned an award.

WAYNE – The Wayne County 4-H Achievement Program was held Oct. 22 and during the program a Randolph girl earned an award.

Claire Sievers, Randolph, was the recipient of the Harold Wittler Memorial Junior Beef Award. The award was established in 2017 by his family in honor of Harold’s interest in young 4-Hers and the beef project. The award is based on an accumulative point system of showmanship, market, breeding, cow/calf, and record keeping participation.

Wayne County 4-H adult volunteers were honored for their service tenure every five years. Achieving five years of leadership are: Amanda Hawthorne, Nick Hawthorne, Connie Petersen and Rebecca Topp.

Earning 10-year service pins were Mindi Eilers and Arlan Sellin. Mark Niemann has been a Wayne County volunteer for 15 years.

The Teresa Statler Memorial Intermediate Division Beef Award is for beef exhibitors who are 4-H age of 11, 12, and 13 and the Darwin Statler Senior Division Beef Award is for beef exhibitors who are 4-H age 14 and older. Both awards were established in 2018 by Laura Behmer and Sarah Sellin in honor of their parents and are also based on an accumulative point system of showmanship, market, breeding, cow/calf, and record keeping participation. The Intermediate Division winner was Baker Behmer and Jamie Janke was the Senior Division winner.
