CROFTON — Crofton Congregational Church is excited to announce “Stories of Inspiration” with quilt designer and artist, Diane Gubbels, Oct. 22. Diane’s “Fabric of Faith” quilt ministry presentation will begin at 10:15 a.m. Diane will share her God-given gifts of beauty and artful inspiration while sewing together the threads of her many “quilt block tales” touching the hearts of men and women, young and old, and people in all walks of life.
As a talented designer and applique artist, Gubbels allows her creative spirit to speak through her quilts, using fabric and design. As her beautiful quilts unfold, so do the stories that led to their creation.
Gubbels is a wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband, Dan, live on a farm near Coleridge. They have seven children and seven grandchildren.
Diane has enjoyed the love of fabric and design since she was a young girl and has been sewing as long as she can remember. Inspired by her mother, Gubbels learned the art of sewing and is passionate about quilting. Her quilts are inspired by many life experiences which become “music to her soul.”
Sharing the “music” through her artwork is her greatest joy as she unfolds the stories from her heart.
This special event is free to attend and open to the public. Coffee, cider, cookies and bars will be served. All are welcome.
