NORFOLK – Students from 24 schools, including those at Randolph High School, will be featured in the fifth annual HAWKFEST Honor Band/Honor Choir music festival at Northeast Community College.
Northeast’s Music Department invites the public to attend the free concert set for 5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, at the Lifelong Learning Center.
Participating students were selected through an audition process. They will then spend the day in rehearsals learning music and working together.
The day will culminate with the evening concert with performances by the Honor Band and Honor Choir. The final selection will combine the High School Honor Choir, the area directors, and the Northeast choir, all accompanied by the High School Honor Band.
The Honor Choir will be led by Northeast’s Director of Vocal Studies, Margaret Schultz; while the Honor Band will be under the direction of Northeast’s Director of Instrumental Studies, Kevin McLouth.
Schools selected to participate are Allen High School Choir, Bancroft-Rosalie High School Band, Battle Creek High School Choir, Bloomfield High School Band & Choir, Boone Central High School Choir; Cody-Kilgore High School Choir; Creighton High School Band & Choir, Elkhorn Valley High School Band & Choir, Fullerton High School Choir, Leigh High School Choir, Madison High School Choir, Neligh-Oakdale High School Choir, Newman Grove High School Choir, O’Neill High School Band, Osmond High School Band, Pender High School Band, Pierce High School Band, Plainview High School Choir, Plainview High School Band & Choir, Ponca High School Band & Choir, Randolph High School Band & Choir, St. Edward High School Choir, Stanton High School Choir, Twin Rivers High School Band and Winside High School Choir.
