Running times can’t beat heat

BATTLE CREEK – The Randolph Cardinals cross country team competed on Sept. 29 at the Battle Creek Invitational at Evergreen Hill Golf Course.

Results from this meet reflect the weather that day – hot.

In the 3.1-mile varsity race, Justin Guenther finished in 20:26 for 21st place. Matthew Schultz ran a 22:58, good for 42nd place; Brayden Shearer, 24:07, 49th place; and Hunter McGee, 24:20, 50th place.

In the junior high 1.8-mile race, Jaylen Junck ran 13:35 for a medal with a ninth-place finish; Eli Bermel 17:33, 32nd place; Trey Tjaden 18:36, 39th place; Josh Miller, 19:02, 41st place.

Randolph will next compete on Friday, Oct. 6 in the Lewis and Clark Conference Cross Country Meet at Rolling Hills Country Club near Bloomfield.
