Former resident impressed by trip back home

Letter to the Editor Upon returning to my hometown of my youth after several years not being there, I was pleasantly surprised by several things. As a friend has sent me copies of your newspapers, congratulations on your great coverage of all areas of the news, including great coverage of the sports teams at all levels.

We were there for my sister-in-law’s funeral and were impressed with the great job Wintz Funeral Home does for not only Hartington, but the whole area. Thanks also to the ladies of the KC Hall for a wonderful lunch.

Congratulations to Mr. Kathol, Mr. McGregor and Mr. Christensen and all others who made the veterans memorial a reality. It is outstanding.

My wife and I also were very impressed not only with the great condition of the parks and recreation areas, but the upkeep of the whole town’s lawns and homes — impressive to say the least.

Lastly, I always enjoy the history section in the Cedar County News as it is very informative about older people and happenings I either knew or knew about as a child. Thank you for your efforts.
