COLERIDGE - A Coleridge man is out of jail on bond while he awaits trial in October for a sexual crime against a child.
The case against Jeff Hansen, 47, continues in South Dakota’s Circuit Court in the Third Judicial District with a trial set in October.
He posted $10,000 bond in July and has been out of jail since that time. He was given a courtappointed attorney.
Hansen was indicted in June on charges of sexual contact with a child and sexual contact without consent - one felony and one misdemeanor. After the indictment, he was arrested and held in the Cedar County Jail until he waived extradition July 10.
Hansen has previously held leadership positions in Coleridge including former fire chief and rescue president, and chairman of the Coleridge Area Fund.
