In its first Patriots Day program Friday, school staff and students as well as the community paid tribute to local first responders and reflected on the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

At top, Jerry Wiese, Jenny Dickes and Ray Schnell salute the flag. At right, placing hands over heart are freshmen Maddy Aulner and Neveah Mathis. The high school band played “My Country Tis of Thee” and “Star Spangled Banner.” Superintendent Daryl Schrunk gave a short talk in the 15-minute ceremony and participants dismissed from the program in silence.
