NIOBRARA – The Randolph cross country team competed at the 2023 Niobrara/Verdigre Invitational last Thursday with favorable results.
Varsity boys medal winners were Justin Guenther, ninth place, with a time of 19:44, and Matthew Schultz, 13th place, with a time of 20:15. Other runners were Brayden Shearer, finishing 22nd with a time of 22:16; Hunter McGhee, 24th, 22:49; and Jake Harder, 29th, 25:57.
Randolph finished fourth out of six teams at the meet with a total of 44 points.
For junior high boys, Jaylen Junck came in third with a time of 6:15, and Kamdin Worlein was fifth with a time of 6:24.
Eli Bermel landed in eighth place with a time of 6:52; Trey Tjaden, 11th, 7:17; and Josh Miller, 15th, 7:32.
Next on the schedule is the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invite set for 4 p.m. Thursday.
The team will then travel to Neligh on Monday, Sept. 11, with a 4:30 p.m. start time.
