STANTON — The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge Lady Bears girls’ golf team used three medalists in the top 10 individually to come away with second-place in the team standings at the Stanton Invitational here on Aug.
31 at Elkhorn Acres Golf Club.
The Lady Bears had individuals finish fourth, seventh and ninth to post a team score of 430, 45 shots behind the team champion, Wayne.
The Lady Blue Devils took the top three medals in the tournament before LCC's Holly Patefield took the fourth spot with a round of 102.
Patefield won a playo with Char - lie Sievers of Wayne to secure fourth
place to prevent Wayne from taking the top four medals.
Joslyn Johnson was first individu -
ally after carding a 91, Carli Carham was next at 94 and Lindsay Nieman was third after firing a 98.
The Blue Devils won the title with a 385, followed by the Lady Bears with the 430, Cedar Catholic was third at 456, Stanton was fourth with a team-total of 483, West Point-Beemer carded a 487 for fifth.
LCC’s Skylar Swanson was seventh after shooting a 105 and Clara Brum mels was ninth after a 109.
Becka Lipp was just out of the medals in 14th for the Lady Bears with a 114 and Harper Bruning was 26th after firing a 123.
The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge junior varsity team placed seventh in the team’s race in the 14-team event after hitting a team-total of 510.
Lily Fox was 19th for LCC with a 119, Kennedy Hall was 22nd at 122, Danica Gould shot a 125 for 28th, Abby Lipp was 42nd after shooting a 144 and Abby Tasler was 47th with a 148.
The Lady Bears are set for a trian- gular at Wayne Sept. 7 before heading for another tournament at the Pierce Invitational on Sept. 9.
