STANTON — The Cedar Catholic girls’ golf team placed third in the Stanton Invitational recently held at the Elkhorn Acres Golf Club after carding a teamtotal of 456.
Wayne won the event with a score of 385, while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was second in the team standings with a 430.
Lady Trojan Mya Dickes brought a medal back home to Hartington after carding a 108, which was good enough for eighth individually.
The Lady Blue Devils earned the first three individual medals, led by Joslyn Johnson who shot a 91. Carli Carnham was second with a 94 and Lindsay Nie - mann was third at 98.
LCC's Holly Patefield was fourth before Wayne golfer Charli Sievers was fifth, both shooting 102.
Cedar Catholic’s Kristine Becker was just a couple of spots out of a medal in 12th after firing a 112. Olivia Kleinschmit and Maci Schommer were 17th and 18th, respectively, at 117 and 119.
Kate Lammers was 27th with a 123 for Cedar Catholic to round out the scoring.
The Lady Trojans were set for a triangular Sept. 5 in Pierce before another triangular Sept. 7 in Wayne.
Cedar Catholic will continue the season with a trip to Battle Creek for the Battle Creek Invitational Sept. 11.
