FORT MILL, S.C. — Charles Allen Wuebben, 84, Fort Mill, S.C., died June 26, 2023.

Services for Charles will be held in Champaign, Ill., Sept. 2, 2023.

Charles was born April 27, 1939, in Wynot, to Fred and Evelyn Wuebben. Chuck graduated from Humboldt High School, Humboldt, S.D., in 1957. He graduated from Springfield State Teachers College, Springfield, S.D., as a draftsmen. He worked for Johnson Controls as a sales engineer. Chuck and Phyllis lived in Champaign, Ill., for more than 40 years, Anchorage, Alaska, for 10 years and eventually retired in Fort Mill.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John Wuebben and Paul Wuebben; and brothers, Maurice Wuebben (wife, Diane), Claude Wuebben (wife, Audrey), Norman Wuebben (wife, Pat), Richard, and sister, Delores Becker (husband, Dewey).

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Wuebben; four siblings, sisters, Donalda Kolbeck (husband, Gene), Dell Rapids, S.D., and Audrey Cleveland (husband, Bob) Montrose, S.D.; brothers, Ron Wuebben (wife, Mary), Sioux Falls, S.D., and Clair Wuebben (wife, Diann) Hudson, Wis.; two sons, Michael (wife, Leslie), Nutley, N.J., and Joseph Wuebben (wife, Melissa) Fort Mills, S.C.; and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Willem, Helena, Reese and Miles Wuebben.

Charles was blessed to be a part of a very large family that included eight brothers and sisters and more than 40 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that any respects be paid by sending a donation to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
