HARTINGTON — New officers were elected, milestone businesses were recognized and deceased members were honored during Sunday night’s annual Hartington Chamber of Commerce banquet.
Chamber President Karen Flamig handed out recognition plaques to Hartington Insurance Agency for 25 years of business in Hartington, Hartington Golf Club and Wintz Funeral Home for 75 years of business in Hartington.
Flamig noted three new businesses also joined the Chamber in 2022. Town Square Offices, Pawz Salon and Appex Appraisal.
The evening concluded with an election of board members and officers.
Flamig was re-elected as president. Other officers elected were: Ray Sukovaty, Vice President; Bryce Lammers, Treasurer; Daniellah De Waal, Secretary. Those elected to the Board of Directors are, Lisa Kruse, Lisa Dendinger, Lauren Kathol, Marlys Hines, Kim Benson, Meika Kramer and Stacy Uttecht.
Two new student representatives were also appointed, with Elizabeth Rokusek from Cedar Catholic and Dayton Sudbeck from Hartington Newcastle Public School serving alongside Lydia Herbolsheimer and Adin Evans.
Several officers and board members are going off the board. They are: Lisa Kruse as Vice President; Katelyn Lammers as Secretary; and board of directors – Kellyn Dump, Brett Klug, Tami Anderson and Lindsay Hutchinson.
Flamig noted there were several highlights throughout the year including Chamber Cheers events sponsored by: City of Hartington/Economic Development, Hartington Golf Club, Cedar County News, Town & Country Insurance & Globe Chophouse, and Creamer Auction Co.
Ribbon Cuttings were hosted for Globe Chophouse on their first anniversary, Town Square Offices and Pawz Salon this fall.
Student Chamber representatives from each of the local schools were added to the Board of Directors in June.
The Cedar Catholic representative is Lydia Herbolsheimer and the Hartington Newcastle Public School representative is Adin Evans.
Flamig said the plan is to add the student representatives as of the first of the year in the future so they essentially will have about a year and a half to serve on the Chamber. The new representatives are Elizabeth Rokusek from Cedar Catholic and Dayton Sudbeck from Hartington-Newcastle Public School.
