Woman reported a disturbance at a Hartington residence with a man and woman arguing. Both parties left town prior to officers’ arrival. Officers learn the two individuals involved were involved in a disturbance in Coleridge a few days prior with woman having a history of making suicidal statements. Officers attempt to locate vehicles and call woman. Yankton was able to contact her and agreed to talk to officers there.

Man asks about organizations doing a march from the school to the courthouse next year. Rescue unit called to Coleridge facility for woman with medical issue, transported to Norfolk hospital. Caller requests vehicle inspection. Rescue unit called to Hartington business for woman with medical issue, transported to Sioux City, Iowa, hospital. Fire and tornado sirens tested at Wynot. Two 911 calls made by mistake. Fordyce sirens tested.

July 3: Three 911 calls made by mistake.

Man reports hitting a cow in rural Hartington.

FBI requests information on an individual regarding an attempt to purchase a firearm.

Woman calls with information about a stolen motorcycle.

Caller reports vandalism and vehicle stolen from Saint Helena.

Traffic control requested near Hartington.

Burglary alarm sounds at Fordyce residence.

Woman asks about inmate visitation and becomes upset with jail visitation policy. “Yankton has better visitation. Thanks for nothing,” she said.

911 call transferred to Yankton. Class ring reported stolen. About four minutes later, ring reportedly found rolled up in woman’s sock. “She was trying to say she wasn’t trying to steal it,” caller said. “Can you guys like dust it for fingerprints or something?” Dispatch advised since woman didn’t leave with the property it technically wasn’t stolen. Caller calls back later that night to say the woman is sitting outside the apartment but she won’t be let inside. “I don’t want to get physical. Actually it cannot because of years of martial arts training in Iowa, I was required to register my hands as lethal weapons.” Caller claims woman has been suicidal and “no doubt she would hurt someone.” Caller calls back later and said woman fell in entry way of residence, hit head and bleeding, alleges woman is heavily medicated and threatening suicide.

July 4: 911 call transferred in from Yankton regarding a boat stranded on Lewis & Clark Lake. Nebraska Game & Parks conducts a search and rescue, tows them into marina.

Caller reports stolen vehicle may have been located near Dixon, information will be passed on to Dixon County.

Man reports being run off the road by another vehicle near Wynot, will need tow. Another call comes in about the vehicle in the ditch from a passing motorist.

Medical alarm sounds for Saint Helena resident, false alarm.

Cedar County in a severe thunderstorm watch. About 20 minutes later, northern half of county put into severe thunderstorm warning area.

July 6: Man reports fireworks going off south of Yankton. Dispatch advises there is no ordinance in that area for time to stop. “I guess I won’t get any sleep,” man said.
