HARTINGTON — The chicken thieves are at it again. They have swiped 30 from various farms around the area.

HARTINGTON — During a severe electrical storm lightning killed a calf on the M. K. Pollock farm. Lightning also struck the house but only minor damage was done to it.

HARTINGTON — A. J. Thoene is putting up a new barn on his farm. The building will be 40 feet by 32 feet.

HARTINGTON — The annual Eby family reunion was held recently in the home of Levi Eby. About 46 people attended the event.

HARTINGTON — Mrs. E. A. Pockrandt and her students gave a recital at the opera house in Laurel. Students from Crofton, Fordyce, Hartington, Coleridge, and Laurel took part in it. About 50 people from around the area came to enjoy the show.
