Legion team books trip to State

HARTINGTON — The Hartington American Legion Seniors battled back from an early deficit to claim a 9-5 win over Wisner-Pilger Howells-Dodge Tuesday night in the Area 1 championship game.

The win sends the Hartington team back to the State Tournament for the first time in several years.

Hartingon plated five runs in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach. The Wisner squad took adsvantage os some tired Hartington pitching arms to plate three runs of their own in the final frame, but it wasn't enough.

Hartington will now head to Rushville for the start of the Class C State Tournament on Saturday.
