WYNOT — The Wynot Expos scored 16 runs in the first five frames to run away with a decisive 16-4 win over the Freeman Blacksox at Terry Foxhoven Field July 9 in South Central Amateur Baseball League action.
The win evens their season record at 6-6.
The Blacksox had beaten the Expos 6-2 back on May 21 in a game played in Freeman, South Dakota.
“Our bats really came to life tonight,” Wynot manager, Lee Heimes said. “We hit the ball pretty well.”
Wynot pounded out 16 hits in six innings as the game was shortened to seven innings by the 10-run rule.
The Expos scored three runs in each of the first two innings to get all of the runs Wynot pitching would need in the game.
Dain Whitmire and Jackson Sudbeck combined to scatter four hits over seven innings and striking out four.
Whitmire went three-and-athird innings with the start and Sudbeck took it from there.
Sudbeck and David Schenk each scored three times in the game; Landon Wieseler, Lee Heimes and Ryan Heimes each scored twice.
Landon Wieseler was 3-for-4 at the plate, Lee Heimes was 3-for-5 and Devon Lammers was 2-for-4 with a home run.
Lee Heimes, David Schenk and Peyton Wiesler all doubled.
Wynot is scheduled to return to action with a trip to Lesterville, South Dakota to take on the Broncs, July 13 with first pitch set for 7:30 p.m.
