MENNO, S.D. — The Wynot Expos scored early and often to take care of the Menno Mad Frogs 9-1 on June 25 to improve to 4-5 in South Central South Dakota League action.
Peyton Wieseler was more than instrumental in the win, getting the win on the mound and going 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs, two doubles, two RBIs and a home run.
Ryan Heimes was 3-for-5 at the dish with a couple of runs and two RBIs. Devin Lammers was 2-for-5 and scored once.
Jaelen Wieseler also drove in a pair of Expos with his two hits while Landon Wieseler drove in two with one hit.
Peyton and Jaelen Wieseler also combined for nine innings on the mound, allowing a single run on five hits and striking out 10 Mad Frogs. Peyton got the win in his five innings of work while Jaelen didn’t issue a walk in his four-inning outing.
The Expos scored two in the first inning, two in the fourth and single runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth sandwiched with a two-run seventh as they pounded out 16 hits and committed no errors defensively.
“I think that’s the first game we haven’t had an error,” Expos skipper Lee Heimes said. “Hopefully, our defense is coming around.”
Wynot will compete on June 29 against the Yankton Tappers at home after three of the last four games were played on the road. The Expos will travel to Crofton on July 3.
