HARTINGTON — Bigger is better.
At least that is what the people at Casey’s General Store are thinking and soon, they may be expanding the Hartington store.
“We only do this in communities we know do well and Hartington has been a great community for us,” said Brian Johnson, vice president of finance and corporate secretary for Casey’s.
A building permit for the project was discussed at Monday’s City Council meeting, but the Council did not have enough members in attendance for a quorum, so the issue had to be tabled until a special meeting is held Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
The expansion will include doubling the kitchen’s size so ready-made sub sandwiches can be added to the current menu, according to Johnson.
In addition increasing the kitchen’s size, the coffee and beer section will be extended so more varieties of each will be available for customers and more coolers will be added so they can choose for a larger assortment of drinks.
