OMAHA — Chase Schroeder was a busy young man on his two-day trip to Omaha for Class D’s 2023 Nebraska School Activities Association State Track and Field Championships last weekend at Omaha Burke Stadium.

Not only was he busy, Schroeder was a successful young man while he was there.

Schroeder ran a couple of 400 runs in the preliminaries and the finals in that event, he ran in the 800 and he ran a leg in the Blue Devils’ 4-by-800 relay team.

He used a 52.22-second showing to qualify third for the finals in the 400 and then covered the distance in 52.85 seconds in the finals to end up with a seventh-place medal.

In the open 800, Schroeder ran 2:01.61 to place sixth and then he joined Dylan Heine, Korbin Guenther and Cooper Oligmueller to carry the baton 3,200 meters in 9:10.03 for 14th place in the 4-by-800.

Heine was equally as busy, running a leg in the relay and jumping in the high jump and the triple jump.

He finished one spot out of the medals in the high jump after clearing the bar at 5 feet, 10 inches, and placed 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 41-00.25.

Jude Krie placed 12th in the long jump with a best of 19-06.50 in that event.

The Lady Blue Devils sent their 4-by-100 relay group of Kinslee Heimes, Eliza Lange, Jordan Foxhoven and Myrah Sudbeck to Omaha.

After the quartet circled the track in Hartington in 53.24 at the district meet, they went around the Burke Stadium oval in 52.76 seconds, which put them in 13th in the preliminaries and left them out of the finals.
