Obituary – Flo Lenzen

Laurel — Flo Lenzen, 86, Laurel, died March 28, 2017, at Hillcrest Care Center, Laurel.
Visitation and a Vigil service were March 31 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Laurel.
Funeral services were April 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Laurel, Fr. David Liewer and Fr. Rod Kneifl officiating.
Interment was in St. Frances Catholic Cemetery, Randolph.
Pallbearers were Robbie Burgel, John Moehlenhoff, Dan Dowling, Dan Blunck, Roger Dowling and Roger Hora.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home, Laurel.
Flo Arlene Lenzen was born Aug. 5, 1930, near Randolph, to William and Nina (Caster) Cunningham. She graduated from Randolph Public School. Flo married Paul Lenzen April 14, 1955, at St. Frances Catholic Church, Randolph. The couple farmed south of Randolph until 1960, when they moved to a farm near Laurel.
Flo was employed at the local grocery store, Hillcrest Care Center, and cleaned homes for many families.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society, served as a Lector and E.M.E.C.H. and participated in Christians Encounter Christ.
She was well known for her delicious pies and cinnamon rolls.
Flo is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Mike) Wortmann, Norfolk; granddaughters, Brenda Vap, Melissa Wortmann and Megan Wortmann; sisters, Alice (John) Moehlenhoff, Creighton; Wilma Wiemers, Laurel; Audrey (George) Hinrichs, Laurel; Doris Dowling, Hastings; Eva Dowling, Redmond, Ore.; sister-in-law, Betty Cunningham, Norfolk; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Flo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul, in 2001; daughter, Marina (Dennis) Vap; granddaughter, Jennifer Wortmann; brothers, Boyd (Ellen) Cunningham and Dale Cunningham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fred Wiemers, Richard Wilkinson, Jim Dowling, Bill Dowling, Irma (Clarence) Remington, Helen Burgel, Velma (Norton) Dowling, Vera (Rick) Remington, Leila (LeRoy) Brummels, and Aulda Cunningham.
Memorials may be directed to the Lenzen Family for later designation.
