Obituary – Bernadine Florence Davis

LITTLETON, Colo. — Bernadine Florence Davis, Littleton, Colo., formerly of Hartington, died Sept. 29, 2017, at the Cherrelyn Healthcare Center, Littleton.
Visitation and a vigil service were Thursday at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Visitation continued Friday, at the church, one hour prior to services.
Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 6 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Daniel Davis, Tanner Barrera, Michael Barrera, Alex Davis, Carter Davis and Cooper Davis.
Bernadine was born Oct. 18, 1930, in Hartington, to Elmo and Florence (Koch) Dreesen. She grew up in Hartington and attended Holy Trinity High School. She married Elmer Davis May 9, 1949, in Elk Point, S.D. She lived in many different cities in the U.S. and has lived in Denver since 1992.
Survivors include her five children, Connie (Conrad) Bensen, Ireton, Iowa; Jerry (Cindy) Davis, Correctionville, Iowa; Cheryl (Ken) Allen, Castle Rock, Colo.; Rick (Cindy) Davis, Milford, Iowa; and Larry Davis, Paullina, Iowa; five sisters, Marietta (Charles) Young, Dakota City, Iowa; Karen (Roger) Arndt, Spencer, Iowa; Helen (Alan) Heikes, Wayne; Linda (Lonnie) Schrempp, Yankton, S.D.; and Janie Tuttle, Hartington; 16 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elmer; daughter-in-law, Laurel Davis; three sisters, Phyllis Vettel, Marlene Kalin and Lorraine Harbeck; three brothers, Edwin, Dick and Bobby Dreesen; brothers-in-law, Stephen Kalin and James Tuttle.
