With the first day of the girls State Golf Tournament now complete, Cedar Catholic is in a three-way tie for third place at the Girls Class C State Tournament. Cedar was led on the first day by junior Cassidy Ulrich, who fired a 94. Ashley Kneifl was right behind her with a 95 on the day. Brandy Wiebelhaus and Ireland Biltoft both fired 101s on the opening day. Ashley Heine had a 110 to round out the Cedar team’s scoring.
Ogallala leads the Class C field with a 364. Broken Bow is second with a 388 and Cedar, Battle Creek and Cozad all follow with a 391.
Ulrich was 20th after the first day of competition. She will tee off last of the five Cedar Catholic golfers — at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday. Ashley Kneifl tees off just ahead of her at 10:26 a.m.
Brandy Wiebelhaus is tied for 35th and will tee off at 9:54. Cedar’s other golfers – Ireland Biltoft and Ashley Heine — tee off at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday.
