Wynot pair earns spot on elite D2 All State team

WYNOT — Two seniors led the Wynot Blue Devils to an 8-2 season, and both Dawson Sudbeck and Jalen Wieseler earned First Team D2 All State honors for their efforts.

“I thought they both had a chance making All-State,” said Wynot head coach Steve Heimes. “They are tremendous athletes and both just always know what they need to do.”

Jalen Wieseler played both quarterback and linebacker, but was selected for his defensive abilities. A three year starter, Heimes says it is difficult to single out one play Wieseler made this season above all others, partly because he seemed to always be where the action was on the field.

“Jalen’s work ethic is tremendous. He pushes himself as hard as he can go so that he can get better, and his work ethic doesn’t just push himself but those around him as well,” said Heimes.
