School Board holds the line with new budget

HARTINGTON — The Hartington-Newcastle School Board is asking taxpayers for less money this year.

This year’s tax asking is $5,113,143.38. The District requested $5,113,200 for the 2015-16 fiscal year.

School Board President Jason Dendinger said the Board worked hard to keep expenses down.

‘It’s nice to not have to raise taxes,” he said. “Certainly, we’d all like to have lower taxes, myself included. There are expenses that continue to climb so that’s sometimes difficult, though.”
