Area teachers, administrators learn how to deal with school violence

Hartington — An ugly topic drew a huge crowd of area educators to the Wausa School Jan. 20.

Two law enforcement officials, Chad Sheehan and Tony Wingert, presented the “S.A.V.E. Yourself” program, which stands for “Survive a Violent Encounter.”

The officers talked about surviving violence at a school/workplace location and today’s active killer.

Scenario-based training was held in the afternoon at the Wausa and Bloomfield schools.
