Randolph — Thelma Sauser, 94, Randolph, died Jan. 2, 2016, at Colonial Manor Estates, Randolph.

Visitation, with a Christian Mothers rosary and a Vigil service, were Jan. 8 at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph.

Funeral services were Jan. 9 at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph, with Rev. Timothy Forget officiating.

Burial was in St. Frances Cemetery, Randolph.

Pallbearers were Clint Sauser, Chad Sauser, Kim Brownfield, Melissa Kelley, Jim Beckman, Pat Korth, Nathan Scott and Tom Sauser.

Arrangements were under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, Randolph.

Thelma was born in Randolph April 13, 1921, to Frank and Susie (Meyer) Leiting.  She was the oldest of 13 children.   Thelma attended St. Frances Parochial School, Randolph. She married Leonard “Slim” Sauser Feb. 24, 1941, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph.  They lived their entire married life in the Randolph area, much of their time on a farm, and raised 10 children.

Thelma was a lifetime member of St. Jane Frances, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and P.C.C.W. Committee #1. Thelma and Slim helped at many Cursillo weekends and food pantries.   She had been active in the Senior Center and at one time served as its president.

She loved to quilt, and all of her children and grandchildren have at least one of her quilts. She loved to bake and garden, even having a flower garden outside her window at the assisted living.

She enjoyed traveling and especially spending time with family and friends.

Thelma is survived by children and spouses Kathy (Ed) Sauser, and Vincent (Sharon) Sauser,  all of Neligh; Marvin (Sandy) Sauser, Indianola, Iowa; Ileen Beckman (Jane Barth), Omaha; Kathy DeTomaso, Randolph; Donna Sauser, Phoenix, Ariz.; Lynette (Randy) Scott, Dundee, Ore.; and Michael (Julie) Sauser, Plainview; 31 grandchildren and spouses, and 55 great-grandchildren; sisters, Verla Wilson, Charleston, S.C.; Ruth (Norb) Thelen, Randolph; and Joan (Russ) Dibbert, Salisbury, N.C.; and brothers, Gordon, Debary, Fla., and Ronnie (Donna), Hudson, Wyo.

Preceding Thelma in death were her parents; her husband of 50 years, Leonard; daughter, Connie; sons, Ed and Dennis; grandson, Daniel; daughter-in-law, Roseanne; brothers, Melvin, Frank, Cecil, Ivo, Wally and Merle; and sister, Arleen.
