Candia, N.H. — Julie C. Vander Mark, 38, Candia, N.H., died Sept. 30, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
A memorial gathering took place Oct. 3 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium. A Liturgy of the Word service was celebrated Oct. 4 at St. Peter Church, Auburn.
Julie was born in Yankton, S.D., May 13, 1978, to Robert and Karen (Sudbeck) Vander Mark. She grew up in Hartington and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School. She attended Creighton University, graduating with a biology degree. In 2001, she attended the University of New England and became a physician assistant in 2004. She practiced as a PA at a family practice clinic in Woonsocket, R.I., then worked for Derry Medical Center in 2007 where she had most recently practiced. She married Peter Reinertsen August 2011 and had lived since in Candia.
Julie was an avid sports watcher and player. Her teams were the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Cubs, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Julie’s skills in games often meant that anyone on her team would win; these include cards, trivia, Pictionary, sports, and other outdoor games. Julie was known for remembering details others would miss. This characteristic often had friends, family and patients feeling cared for, remembered, and loved like one experiences with a lifelong friend. Family members include her husband, Peter Reinertsen, Candia; her mother and step father, Karen and Ed Scdoris, Hartington; her father, Robert Vander Mark, Hartington; her maternal grandfather, Vernon Sudbeck, Hartington; one uncle, David Sudbeck, Charleston, W.Va.; one aunt, Diane Sudbeck, Hartington; and several cousins.
Julie was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey Vander Mark, in 2008.
As a perpetual thank you to the healthcare industry, donations may be made to The Derry Medical Center Charitable Foundation, 6 Buttrick Rd, Londonderry, NH, which will provide to the Greater Derry Area an annual higher education scholarship in Julie’s name, for those seeking a healthcare career.
