LIVINGSTON, TEXAS — Geraldine “Gerry” Koehn Rudebusch, 92, Livingston, Texas, formerly of Randolph, died Jan. 10, 2016. For the past two and a half years she was residing at Provident Memory Care, Livingston.
Memorial services were held at the Escapee’s Care Center. Livingston, with Rev. Ray Gearing officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery near McLean.
Geraldine was born on her parents farm, located in Pierce County Jan. 1, 1924, the only daughter of Arthur and Dorathy Henzler Koehn. She has one loving brother, Lowell Koehn.
She attended rural, one-room schools, parochial school and graduated from Pierce High School, later attending Wayne State College. Geraldine taught in a one-room country school for 10 years and Sunday school for 22 years.
Geraldine married the “love of her life”, Vernon Rudebusch, Dec. 26, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, by Rev. Harms. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage, and had three sons. Most of their married life was spent on a farm in Nebraska. She loved being a farmer’s wife and helping with all the daily chores. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and polka music. Vernon and Geraldine enjoyed being Winter Texans during their later years.
Geraldine was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Church Circles and her neighborhood Sew & So Club, all in Randolph.
Geraldine is survived by her spouse, Vernon; two sons, Daniel (Karla), Livingston, Texas, and John (Diane), Randolph; seven grandchildren, David (Jacki), Lincoln; Nicholas (Jenna), Bay Town, Texas; Beth, Dallas, Texas; Jacob, Livingston, Texas; Joseph, Randolph; Hannah (Robert La France), Houston, Texas; and Michael (Danielle), Livingston, Texas; and four great granddaughters, Briley Frye, Vivian, Ella and Cameron Rudebusch.
Preceeding Geraldine in death were her parents; one son, James; and her brother, Lowell.
