COLERIDGE — Doris Marie Frerichs, 91, Coleridge, died Aug. 11, 2016, at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, S.D.
The family received friends one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Memorial services were Aug. 15 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Coleridge, with Rev. Russ Lambert officiating.
Inurnment was at the Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Coleridge.
The Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge, was in charge of arrangements.
Doris was born Oct. 31, 1924, at Coleridge, to William and Bertha (Giles) West. She grew up in Hartington, and graduated from Hartington High School in 1944. Doris married Orlyn N. Frerichs Sept. 7, 1947, at Hartington. They made their home on a farm north of Coleridge until 1992 when they moved into Coleridge. Doris has been a resident of the Embers Assisted Living, Coleridge, since February 2014.
Doris was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Immanuel Lutheran Church Women.
She enjoyed quilting and playing cards. She always remembered her friends and family with cards and letters.
Doris is survived by her husband, Orlyn, Coleridge; six children and spouses, Connie and David Hallahan, Loveland, Colo.; Karla and Dennis Vigil, Ft. Collins, Colo.; Craig and Susan Frerichs, Coleridge; Kevin and Kandy Frerichs, Wayne; Kandy and Roger Domina, Newburgh, Ind.; Karil Evans and Mike Adams, Hartington; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruby Finch; and three brothers, Ray, Merle and Leonard West.
