Lincoln — Donald E. Koeppen, 67, Lincoln, died Aug. 24, 2016, at the home of his son, Cory Koeppen, in Milford.
Donald Eugene Koeppen was born July 21, 1949, in rural Wynot, to Alfred and Hazel Rossenbach Koeppen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Wynot. Don attended rural Rock Hill grade school. He graduated from Hartington High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He married Rebecca Larsen, Dakota City. They had two sons, Cory and Collan.
Don enjoyed reading, playing chess and card games, especially Sheep Head. He had an exceptional knowledge of the German language. He was a good friend and neighbor and lived in the Hartington area until moving to Lincoln a few years ago.
Don is survived by his two sons, Cory, Milford, and Collan, Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandsons, Cooper and Caden, Lincoln; and several cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, LeRoy; maternal grandparents, Charles and Sarah “Sadie” Rossenbach; and his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Anna Koeppen.
