Federal Heights, Colo. — Collin Curtis Jeffries, 24, Federal Heights, Colo., formerly of Wayne, died Aug. 6, 2016, in Federal Heights.
Funeral services were Aug. 13 at First United Methodist Church, Wayne, with Rev. Kyle Nelson officiating.
Visitation was Aug. 12 at First United Methodist Church, Wayne.
Pallbearers were Derek Poutre, Bren Vander Weil, John Murray, Mike Varley, Andy Diediker and Jordan Barry.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Wayne.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home, Wayne.
Collin Curtis Jeffries was born March 5, 1992, in Wayne, to Curtis and Coleen (Papenhausen) Jeffries. He was baptized and confirmed in the Wayne First United Methodist Church. He attended Wayne Community Schools until graduating in 2010. Collin was involved in and enjoyed many activities. He was introduced to the game of golf in the summer recreation golf program in fourth grade. He was most passionate about the game of golf and spent countless hours at the Wayne Country Club enjoying the game with his friends of all ages. He was successful in high school golf competitions and qualified for the high school state golf tournament all four years of high school. Collin enjoyed listening to all genres of music. He was a percussionist for the band and attended Masonic Band Camp two years. He was also in Choir, Swing Choir and musicals. Collin was active in Boy Scouts where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009, and participated in several high adventure trips with the scouts. After finishing high school, Collin at
tended one year of college at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He then enrolled in an apprentice program with Colorado Sound, Denver, Colo., learning the sound recording industry. He earned a certificate of completion in the program in 2012. Collin was presently working at TC Labs, Denver, as a lab technician.
Collin is survived by his parents, Curtis and Coleen Jeffries, Wayne; girlfriend, Megan Smith, and her daughter, Cora Smith, Federal Heights, Colo.; grandmother, Vivian Papenhausen, Coleridge; aunts and uncles, Marlin and Lynn Papenhausen, Coleridge; Don and Phyllis (Jeffries) Wood, Pierce; cousins, Andrew and Jeana Wood, Seward; Darrel and Amanda (Wood) Fieldgrove, Grand Island; Kelsey Papenhausen, Oxford; Brady Papenhausen, Coleridge; and many friends.
Collin was preceded in death by his sister, Christa; maternal grandfather, Curtis Papenhausen; paternal grandparents, Curtis and Mona Jeffries and great-grandparents.
Memorials may be directed to the Jeffries Family for later designation.
