LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Dwayne Frances Meier, 66, Las Vegas, Nev., died at his home July 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife and children. A devout Catholic, Dwayne was at peace and ready to be with the Lord.
In lieu of a formal service, Dwayne wished to live out the trip of a lifetime this year. He traveled with Sara for two months, visiting 33 states and spending time with numerous relatives.
Dwayne was born in Randolph March 22, 1950, to Laurence and Charlotte Meier. He was the fifth of six children. A highlight of his youth in Randolph was playing football. He fondly remembered victories on the field and was extremely proud of being named MVP for the Cardinal’s football team. As an adult, Dwayne fell in love with the vast beauty of Colorado and called it home.
He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union. However, it was fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and playing cribbage that really brought him joy. His children have fond memories of growing up in the great outdoors with their Dad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara, with whom he spent 10 joyful years; his siblings, Dennis “Lefty”, Connie, Mary and Rhonda; sister-in- law, Cheryl; his children, Chaedric (Kari) Meier, Alaska; Chawndell (Julie) Meier, Tenn.; Dawn (Matt) Davison, N.C.; and Victoria (James) Chalmers, Canada; step children, Tarly Patricia, Nevada; Marco Antonio, Honduras; and Araceli Sarahi, Honduras; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
