Notice is hereby given that a Six Year Road and Street Plan for the City of Hartington, Nebraska as required by NEB. REV. STAT. Sec. 39-2119 et seq. R.R.S. has been recommended for approval by the Mayor and City Council, and that a Public Hearing will be held on said Six Year Road and Street Plan on the 23rd of February, 2015, beginning at 7:00 P.M., at the City Hall at which time objection to or recommendations for said Plan will be heard.

Notice of School Board Meeting

The Hartington-Newcastle District #8 School Board will meet in the Board Conference Room, Elementary Building, at Hartington-Newcastle Public Schools at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015, in regular session. A current agenda is available at the office of the superintendent.

A special meeting of the Board of Education, Wynot Public Schools, Dist. 101, was called to order by the President, Neil Hochstein, on January 26, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. The public was advised a copy of the Open Meetings Act was available on the table in the Board Room at Wynot Public Schools and that the meeting was properly posted at the following places; Cedar Security Bank lobby in Wynot, Wynot Public School front entrance, and United State Post Office in Wynot. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Board Members Present: Neil Hochstein, Dean Heine, and Danny Wieseler.

Administration: Superintendent Jeffrey Messersmith.

Visitor: Steve Wieseler

Motion by D. Wieseler and seconded by D. Heine to certify the meeting was properly advertised and adopt the agenda. Carried 6-0

Jim Berg & Dan Spiry from BVH Architects facilitated the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to gather information regarding the possible new building addition. The results of what lead the board to this discussion and to brainstorm options to be studied as well as clarify and prioritize staff, student, and community needs.

No official action was taken on any item.

President, Neil Hochstein, adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p.m.

The next regular board meeting has been set for February 12, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.

Pursuant to Nebraska Revised Statutes, ยง 46-701 et seq., the Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) hereby provides notice that a public hearing shall be held Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the LCNRD board room located at 608 North Robinson Avenue, Hartington, NE 68739. As required by law, the purpose of the hearing is to receive testimony and other evidence concerning the proposed chemigation regulations. The geographic area proposed for the chemigation regulations encompasses all of the land area located within the boundaries of the LCNRD. A general description of the proposed regulations are as follows: (1) General definitions are established; (2) Any person wishing to use chemigation must obtain a permit from LCNRD; (3) Any person wishing to use chemigation must be certified as required by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality to do so; (4) Provides procedures for the chemigation permitting process; (5) Provides procedures for renewal of chemigation permits; (6) Provides for special permits; (7) Provides for emergency chemigation approval; (8) Provides for permit suspension and/or revocation of chemigation permits if there is a threat to the public or environment from chemigation, or if the permit was violated in any way, including false or fraudulent information in obtaining the permit; (9) Provides for application fees to reflect the cost of administration and inspections of the LCNRD chemigation program; (10) Provides for inspection of all chemigation systems by LCNRD representatives; (11) Specifies the type of equipment that must be used with any chemigation system; (12) Requires public posting on chemigated fields; (13) Provides procedures for enforcement of chemigation violations; (14) Requires reporting of any actual or suspected accidents related to chemigation systems.

Any interested person may appear at the hearing and present written or oral testimony concerning the proposed regulations. Individuals with disabilities may request auxiliary aids and service necessary for participation by contacting LCNRD by February 12, 2015. Testimony or other evidence relevant to the purposes of the hearing may also be submitted in writing to LCNRD at 608 North Robinson Avenue, PO Box 518, Hartington, Nebraska 68739, by 5:00 p.m., February 18, 2015.
