HOLDREGE — Vonnie Dean “Von” Beaudette, 80, Holdrege, died March 13, 2015, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center, Holdrege.
Visitation and a Rosary were March 17 at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home, Holdrege.
Mass of Christian Burial for Vonnie D. Beaudette will be at All Saints Catholic Church, Holdrege, March 18, at 10:30 a.m., with Father Thomas Lux as celebrant.
Following the traditional funeral, cremation will take place and the family will have a private inurnment at a later date.
The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home, Holdrege, is in charge of the arrangements.
Von was born Dec. 8, 1934, at Wausa, the third of six children born to Lee and Velma (Elsberry) Beaudette. Von received his primary education and graduated from Wausa Public School with the class of 1953. Von married to Donna M. Scott July 24, 1954, at Randolph. They had seven children Gregory, Scott, Susan, Daniel, Jim, Dale and Sharon. Von drove truck for several trucking firms until he bought his own truck and became an owner-operator. He drove truck for over 40 years. He accumulated over four million accident free miles and was honored as Driver of the Year by the Nebraska Motor Carriers Association.
Von enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, racing, motorcycling and “little black dogs.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Greg Beaudette and Scott Beaudette; an infant sister, CorvaLee; and brothers, Delwyn Beaudette and John Beaudette.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, Holdrege; children, Susan Heppard and her husband, Noel, Springfield, Mo.; Dan Beaudette and his wife, Lois, Seymour, Tenn.; Jim Beaudette and his wife, Delisa, Holdrege; Dale Beaudette and his wife, Dianne, Gering; Sharon Kuss and her husband Dan, Holdrege; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in his memory and kindly suggested to the All Saints Catholic School.
