Storm Lake, Iowa — Vivian Harrington, 85, Storm Lake, Iowa, died Feb. 5, 2015, at Otsego Place, Storm Lake.
Visitation was Feb. 7, until the beginning of the service at the Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home, Storm Lake.
Graveside services were Feb. 7 at the Storm Lake Cemetery, Storm Lake.
Vivian Harriet Andersen was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Wakefield, the daughter of Andrew Pete and Gerda (Jensen) Andersen. Vivian grew up in Laurel, where she attended school, graduating from Laurel High School in 1947. Vivian married Ralph Sidney “Sid” Harrington June 18, 1950, and they had three children, Rick, Randy and Rhonda. In 1963, the family moved to Independence, Iowa. In 1985, the couple made their home in Storm Lake, Iowa. Together, they owned and operated the Storm Lake Bowl.
Vivian was a faithful member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, Storm Lake.
In her spare time, Vivian loved to bowl, sew, crochet and spend time in her garden. Keeping house was a true enjoyment for her, and she enjoyed visiting with friends. Most of all, Vivian loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her earlier years, Vivian and Sid enjoyed playing cards and Saturday night dances with friends.
Survivors include her children and spouses Rick and Natalia Harrington, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Randy Harrington, Ventura, Calif.; Rhonda and Paul Lussman, Storm Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Ryann (Chris) Bustos, Ventura, Calif.; Rylee Harrington, Winthrop, Iowa; Alex and Michail Markov, Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister, Shirley Oehlerking, Dakota Dunes, S.D.; and extended family and friends.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sid, in 2006; granddaughter, Katelyn “Katie” Duff; and sister, Rubye Wiig.
