FREMONT — Muriel K. Heese, 73, Fremont, died March 15, 2015, in Dunklau Gardens, Fremont.
Visitation was March 18 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont.
The funeral services were March 19 at First Lutheran Church, Fremont, with Rev. Michael Knudson officiating. The committal followed in Memorial Cemetery.
Muriel was born Oct. 17, 1941, in Coleridge, to Ernest and Oneta (Lorentzen) Kock. She grew up in the area of Wayne, Norfolk, and Hartington. She graduated from the high school in Hartington as the Valedictorian of the class of 1959. She graduated from Wayne State College in 1963, with a teaching degree and later received a certificate for extended teaching. She taught in Hartington and Sutton, and then in Fremont at Washington Elementary School.
Muriel married Bernard Heese July 17, 1970, at First Lutheran Church, Fremont. She worked for Hinky Dinky Grocery store, Fremont, for several years until her health failed.
Muriel was a member of First Lutheran Church, and had been active in a neighborhood sewing group. She was an avid bowler, having bowled in several leagues over the years. She was also a husker football fan.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Oneta ‘Cookie’ Kock.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard; and brother, Clark, and wife, Evelyn Koch, Fremont.
Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church and to the family for later designation.
