County building permits are on the rise

HARTINGTON  —  The number of building permits filed in rural areas of Cedar County in 2014 is up when compared with the number of permits filed two years ago in 2012.

Cedar County records show 157 building permits were issued in 2014, 140 permits were filed in 2012.

A number of the applications that filed in 2014 included permits to replace buildings destroyed when tornadoes swept through portions of Cedar County in June 2014.
