NEWCASTLE — With the first day of school only two weeks away, few questions remain on how the newly organized Hartington-Newcastle School District will operate as one unit.
Wednesday’s joint school board meeting and public hearing here helped answer many questions, starting with who remains on the school board, which is seated when the new district is officially formed Aug. 1.
Hartington retains all six of its members based on the number of students attending from that town and Newcastle will reduce its number of members to three making it a nine-member board.
Serving from Hartington are: Collin Kathol, Brenda Steiner, Jason Dendinger, Gerri Jueden, Doug Miller and Ron Pearson.
