Agrex, Inc., a full service grain handling company which has ties to Japan and an overseas market, has high hopes for a bountiful 2014 harvest.
The Agrex facility, located on the northwest edge of Laurel, has a maximum capacity close to 2.7 million bushels.
Ten cement silos – several reaching heights of 144 feet, leave a mark on the Laurel skyline. The various size cement silos have eight-inch thick walls.
Guests at the Agrex Open House Thursday could hop on a trolley and tour the facility while listening to a few of the astonishing figures provided by Earl Joy, a guide on one of the trolleys.
As the trolley passed the huge vacuum cleaner, Joy pointed out how the Agrex site in Laurel will be dust free.
