Summer storms have big affect on Cedar County budget

HARTINGTON — Damage from last summer’s storms is still having an affect on local taxpayers.

Several bridges will need to be replaced because of wind and water damage from June storms.

Cedar County’s new $16.7 million budget, approved by Commissioners Tuesday, is asking for $275,121 more than last year’s tax request.

The majority of this increase is because of the County Road Department.
