School Board votes to buy coach bus

HARTINGTON — The Hartington-Newcastle School Board voted Monday in favor of buying a 2004 travel Coach from Masters Transportation for sports and extra curricular activities.

The bus cost is $229,000 and carries 62 students. It also has room for sports equipment, band instruments and other items in the undercarriage.

Supt. Randall Anderson said he thought the graphics on the side of the bus could be done a little more economically and by a local vendor, so the board agreed to accept the bus as early as Tuesday without the name of the school on the side.
